Indians' Asdurbal Cabrera Turns Rare Unassisted Triple Play
Atlanta, GA 5/13/2008 04:13 PM GMT (WooEB)
Cleveland Indians second baseman Asdurbal Cabrera turned in an unassisted triple play against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.
Cabrera's feat was only the 14th time in Major League Baseball history that someone has had an unassisted triple play.
In the fifth inning, the Blue Jays had runners on first base and second base, and tried a hit-and-run. Toronto's Lyle Overbay poked a line to Cabrera's right.
Cabrera made the diving catch and both runners were committed, one had reached third base and the other second. Cabrera touched both the bag and the runner at second, thus completing the amazing unassisted triple play.
The video of the unassisted triple play is available within the press release and in the video section of Finditt.com.
