Rockwall, Texas (Findit) May 27, 2019 – The Last Well, a Christian charity, recently released a blog discussing the various ways to get clean water in Africa. Millions of people across the continent struggle to access clean drinking water, resulting in severe health crises. When communities lack clean drinking water, their residents’ education, safety, and health suffer. Women and children undertake dangerous journeys to bring water to their families, and many children must skip school in order to do so. This perpetuates the cycle of poverty, as they will be less likely to secure higher-paying jobs. Health concerns are also serious. Cholera, dengue fever, hepatitis, malaria, and other water-related illnesses are common and can result in death. To protect against these diseases, people must have access to clean drinking water and understand how to keep those sources of water safe and useable. Without these critical resources, hundreds of thousands of people in Africa fall sick each year, affecting their ability to make a living or get an education.
